Press Release – REPs Revives its Register!

Focus Awards, one of the most recognised awarding organisations in the fitness industry, is able to announce that learners of its qualifications will once again be eligible for membership of REPs – the Register of Exercise Professionals.

REPs’ approval and membership was regarded as a mark of excellence in fitness education, but almost disappeared when its Register was amalgamated with CIMSPA’s in 2020. However, new independent ownership has recently revived the REPs Register.

Picking an REPs-registered trainer means they’re qualified and know their stuff when it comes to helping you to reach your health goals. When you choose a certified trainer you can be sure you are in good hands.

REPs was founded to form a register of exercise professionals that practice within the UK that meets specific criteria of qualifications and insurance, to ensure they meet the National Occupational Standards for the health and fitness industry. Its main function is to protect the public by making sure that those offering fitness services are qualified and ethical.

Focus Awards recognises that some confusion and uncertainties exist over this development, and neither endorses nor recommends subscription to or use of the Register. Like most such decisions, it is a matter of personal and professional choice for the individual.

However, we want to enable those learners who perceive a benefit from joining the REPs Register an opportunity to do so.

Graduates of Focus Awards’ qualifications are free to exercise their option to join REPs (or not) once they have completed qualifications through our approved centres and recognised training providers.

Focus Awards remains endorsed by CIMSPA and will continue its important work with both organisations to help develop and improve standards across the Sports and Fitness sector.
