Qualification Overview

The Focus Awards Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills (RQF) is aimed at those who wish to develop their knowledge and skills in engaging in, and applying the use of counselling skills, to a helping relationship. This qualification will give learners knowledge and understanding of theoretical approaches to counselling, how counselling skills can be applied in a helping relationship, the concepts of diversity and ethics, and reflective practice.

Qualification Structure

Learners must achieve 16 credits from the four mandatory units in order to complete this qualification. Details of all the units can be found in the qualification specification on the Focus Awards website.

Learner Entry Requirements

There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification. The Focus Awards Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills is aimed at learners who are at least 16 years old.
