Qualification Overview
The Focus Awards Level 1 Award in Introduction to Health, Social Care and Children’s and Young People’s Setting (RQF) is aimed at those learners who have just entered the sector or are considering a career in health and/or social care with adults, children, and young people.
The Focus Awards Level 1 Award in Introduction to Health, Social Care and Children’s and Young People’s Settings (RQF) is aimed at developing learners’ knowledge and awareness of health and social care in children’s and young people’s settings. This includes developing the learner’s understanding of the similarities and differences between health, social care and children’s and young people’s setting.
Qualification Structure
Learners must achieve 6 credits from the mandatory units and a minimum of 4 credits from the optional units totalling 10 credits.
Learner Entry Requirements
Learners should be competent in literacy and numeracy to help with elements of communication. This is at the discretion of the centre as they may decide to use diagnostic testing methods to ascertain how they can support learners.

Learners wishing to progress from this qualification can undertake the following qualifications:

Learners should be at least 16 years old to undertake this qualification.
