Focus awards is the awarding organisation also known as the awarding body for hair and beauty sectors. They offer a qualification for The Focus Awards Level 1 Certificate in An Introduction to the Hair and Beauty Sector (RQF) this is aimed at those wishing to work in the hair and beauty sector.

The Focus Awards Level 1 Certificate in An Introduction to the Hair and Beauty Sector (RQF) is aimed at developing the practical skills and knowledge for progressing to further learning necessary to work in the hair or beauty industry. By completing further training this qualification could lead to jobs roles such as, Beauty Salon Assistant and Hairdressing Salon Assistant.

Learners must achieve 6 credits from the 2 mandatory units and a minimum of 9 credits from the optional units totalling at least 15 credits. 9 credits must be achieved at level 1 or above.

Learners should be competent in literacy and numeracy to help with elements of communication. This is at the discretion of the centre as they may decide to use diagnostic testing methods to ascertain how they can support learners.

Learners wishing to progress from this qualification can undertake the following qualifications: Focus Awards Level 2 Certificate In The Application Of Cosmetic Make-Up (RQF),Focus Awards Level 3 Diploma In Combined Beauty Therapy Skills (RQF), Focus Awards Level 2 Award In The Art Of Dressing Hair And Photographic Make-Up, (RQF)Focus Awards Level 2 Award In Skin Care And Facial Treatments (RQF).
