Qualification Overview

The aim of the Focus Awards Level 2 Award in Skin Care and Facial Treatments (RQF) is to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding to safely provide facial treatments to clients. Learners will develop the skills required to practice according to health and safety requirements in a salon environment, gain suitable communication skills to care for clients. Learners will develop their knowledge of facial anatomy and physiology, legal considerations, and be able to prepare for and provide skin care information and facials to clients.

Qualification Structure / Rules of Combination

To achieve the Focus Awards Level 2 Award in Skin Care and Facial Treatments (RQF) learners must complete 3 mandatory units to achieve a total of 13 credits.

There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification.

Progression Routes

Learners wishing to progress from this qualification can undertake the following qualifications: • Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy • Level 3 Diploma in Combined Beauty Therapy Skills • Level 2 Certificate in the Application of Cosmetic Make-up • Level 3 Diploma in Make-up Artistry

Age Ranges

Entry is at the discretion of the centre; however, learners should be at least 16 to undertake this qualification.

Geographical Coverage

This qualification has been accredited for use in England and Northern Ireland.
