Qualification Overview
The aim of the Focus Awards Level 3 Award in Planning and Delivering Exercise for Older Adults (RQF) is to develop learners’ knowledge and understanding of the older adult population, associated medical conditions and considerations for physical activity. Learners will develop skills required to be able to collect relevant information to plan, deliver and adapt exercise in order to meet the needs of older adults.
Qualification Structure
In order to successfully achieve the Focus Awards Level 3 Award in Planning and Delivering Exercise for Older Adults (RQF) learners must complete all mandatory units totalling 10 credits.
Learner Entry Requirements
Learners must hold a minimum of a level 2 fitness instructing qualification or equivalent. Focus Awards does not set any other entry requirements, but additional criteria may be requested or specified by the centre.
Progression Routes
Learners wishing to progress from this qualification can undertake the following qualifications:
- Focus Awards Level 3 Certificate In Planning And Delivering Personal Training (RQF)
- Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate In Delivering Physical Activity For Individuals With Mental Health Conditions (RQF)
- Focus Awards Level 3 Diploma in Exercise Referral (RQF)
Age Ranges
Entry is at the discretion of the centre; however, learners should be at least 16 years of age to undertake this qualification.
