Qualification Overview

The aim of the Focus Awards Level 2 Certificate in Autism Awareness (RQF) is to provide learners with a comprehensive understanding of autism spectrum conditions (ASC) and the knowledge required to support autistic individuals through person-centred, inclusive and strengths-based approaches.

The qualification develops learners’ understanding of autism, including communication differences, sensory processing, social interaction, emotional regulation and the diversity of autistic experiences. Learners will explore contemporary approaches to autism that recognise neurodiversity and promote equality, inclusion and positive outcomes for autistic individuals across education, employment, health, social care and community settings.

Learners will also develop an understanding of the importance of effective communication, reasonable adjustments, safeguarding responsibilities, partnership working and the promotion of independence and wellbeing.

To successfully achieve the Focus Awards Level 2 Certificate in Autism Awareness (RQF), learners must complete 4 mandatory units

Age Ranges

Entry is at the discretion of the centre. However, learners should be at least 16 to undertake this qualification.
