Health and Social Care

Focus Awards Level 3 Award in Understanding Human Anatomy and Physiology has recently been updated.

A new specification is available on your Qualitas account for download.

The Focus Awards Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Road Passenger Vehicle Driving (Taxi and Private Hire) has operationally ended. We are no longer accepting centre applications or qualification approvals for the qualification.

As we step into the new year, we have a lot of qualifications that will potentially be developed, a member of our centre support team may be in contact to request your support in the development of a qualification.

We’re working on a brand-new update for Qualitas, this will hopefully be live soon. There will be no changes to process’ or how you currently carry out administrational tasks, Qualitas is simply having a makeover to make it a little bit less monochrome.

Specifications are having a makeover too. We have 8 brand new designs that are gradually being introduced, you may have spotted one or two of them already.

Armistice Day

Every year, at 11 AM on 11 November the eleventh hour of the eleventh month), we observe two minute’s silent reflection to remember the many thousands of soldiers, sailors and airmen who have given their lives – the ultimate sacrifice – in the service of their country. They paid for our future security and relative peace in the most dreadful way.

On that date in 1918, hostilities ceased between Britain and Germany at the end of the First World War, with more than 886,00 British dead. Often referred to as “The Great War”, it was believed at the time that such an event would not occur again. Sadly, within 21 years, in 1939, the Second World War started, ending some six years later in 1945.

During that conflict a staggering 384,000 more British service people also left their families and loved ones to continue to protect us, never to return, and 70,000 civilians also lost their lives.

Today, war and conflict continue to rage on in many corners of the globe, and numerous wars and battles have claimed thousands more British lives, including the Korean War, Suez, Northern Ireland, the Falklands, Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, Sierra Leone.

This year, as we do every year on Armistice Day, Focus Awards will also observe two minutes’ silence in memory of our fallen, as a mark of respect. During this time, calls and emails will not be answered. We urge others to do the same.

From the famous Kohima Epitaph:

Go home. Tell them of us and say, “For your tomorrow, we gave our today.”

“At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, We Will Remember Them.”

Yes, we said it, Christmas is coming. Here at Focus Awards, we believe the Holiday is about spending time with friends, family and loved ones, this year from Friday 17th December 2021 until Tuesday 4th January 2021 our office will be closed. Further information will be provided in December.
