Focus Awards Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF)

Emergency First Aid at Work

There are new assessment materials available for centers that offer the Focus Awards Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF). This includes a new workbook consisting of 15 preset questions for learners.  In addition, there is also an answer guide to assist assessors, both of which are available as a free download on the Qualitas shop.

Qualification Purpose:

The Focus Awards Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) aims to develop learners’ knowledge, understanding, and skills of first aid at work. The qualification will provide learners with the opportunity to administer first aid procedures in the workplace by becoming a qualified first aider. The Focus Awards Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF)
meets the Health and Safety Executive (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 in respect of First Aid at Work and is aimed at those who work, or intend to work, for a range of organizations. All employers are required by law to have a First Aid provision for their employees. In achieving Emergency First Aid at Work , all learners will cover essentials of First Aid, including roles and responsibilities, incident assessment, and managing and administering First Aid to casualties in a variety of situations. These situations could relate to breathing, chocking, bleeding, shock, and minor injuries as well as casualties with sudden poisoning, anaphylaxis, and suspected major illness.

To ensure all learners are being assessed through the same method, the new workbook must be implemented in centers by no later than the 31st of July 2024. Sampling submissions will be denied should any centers not be using the new workbook by the stipulated deadline.

Many centers have already been contacted by their assigned EQA with regards to this. By moving towards a more standardized method of assessing, we can continue to provide you with high quality resources and materials for your learners.
