Qualification Overview
The Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Massage Therapy for Sports (RQF) is aimed at those learners currently working in the sports and active leisure sector and have already achieved the level 3 diploma in sports massage, who are looking to move onto the next level.
The purpose of the Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Massage Therapy for Sports (RQF) is to provide the leaner with the knowledge, skills and understanding that is needed to be able to perform assessments, provide sports massage techniques, and understand treatment to support injury rehabilitation.
Qualification Structure
In order to complete the Focus Awards Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Massage Therapy for Sports (RQF) learners must achieve 19 credits from the 3 mandatory units.
Learner Entry Requirements
To complete this qualification, learners must have previously achieved a Level 3 Diploma in Massage Therapy for Sports or equivalent. Other learner entry requirements are at the discretion of the centre.
Progression Routes
Learners wishing to progress from this qualification can undertake the following qualifications:
- Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Exercise for Managing Lower Back Pain (RQF)
- British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR) Specialist Exercise Instructor Level 4 Cardiac Qualification
- Level 4 Certificate in Cancer Rehabilitation
- Level 4 Award in Long Term Neurological Conditions
Age Ranges
Entry is at the discretion of the centre; however, learners should be at least 16 to undertake the qualification.
Geographical Coverage
This qualification has been accredited for use in England and Northern Ireland.
